Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the processes of Europeanization on one hand, and the phenomenon of cultural-poetic syncretisms and liminal-hybrid forms in Bosniak literary practices since the late 19th century on the other. Cultural poetic syncretisms and liminal-hybrid forms, by their nature, are fundamental modes of the memory of literature – a form of so-called literary self-memory– but are also a particular interliterary phenomenon. In the case of modern Bosniak literature, they are closely related to the process of Europeanization and the complex relationship between the Muslim Orient and the European West, essentially shaping the cultural identity of this literature. A representative example of the connection of the processes of Europeanization and the phenomenon of cultural-poetic syncretisms and liminal-hybrid forms in modern Bosniak literary practice, especially in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is the early poetic work of Safvet-beg Bašagić.
