Summary/Abstract: Former industrial areas, both in small and large cities, have been of great interest to developers, designers, scientists and local authorities for many years. Cooperation between all these branches can bring measurable effects, regarding the number and quality of relevant projects. It is important to use all neglected and devastated areas often situated in the city centers, which can be compatible with modern urban trends, such as ecology and sustainable development of cities. This article will present various examples how to use post-industrial areas for residential and services buildings in Europe and Poland.
