Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the relationship between the international and national law under the present Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria. The currently in force Constitution of 1991 marks a new stage in the development of the relationship of the national and international law under the national legislation. As a whole there is a transition from the previously established attachment to the theory of the legal dualism to the insertion of the notion for the supremacy of international law under certain conditions as set forth in Article 5 (4) of the Constitution.
