Evolution of the Position of the National Bank of Polandin The Macro- -Prudential Policy

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to focus on the position of the National Bank of Poland in the macro prudential oversight. In the beginning, macro-prudential oversight in Poland rested with the European Systematic Risk Board, in which the leading role was to be guaranteed for the National Bank of Poland with varying intensity. Eventually, the responsibility for macro-prudential oversight and crisis management falls on the Committee of Financial Stability. This solution weakens the role of the National Bank of Poland in the macro-prudential oversight.
