Summary/Abstract: In this text our purpose is to analyse the philosophical relation between Hannah Arendt and Martin Heidegger through the opposition of their theoretical positions, the first being a political theory and the latter an existential philosophy. We will begin by presenting the cultural atmosphere of the German interwar epoque, dominated by the conservative-revolutionary ideology that will put its mark on both authors. Then we will try to show the extent to which Arendt could be considered as transforming and using heideggerian concepts. By presenting her critique of Heidegger’s existential philosophy, seen as a brand new ontology, we will try to show the importance of her political theory in opposition with fundamental ontology, in which human plurality is forgotten and man is seen as separate from his fellow men.
