The Invisible Genocide – Political Mobilization of the Romani People and Contemporary Romani Art

Summary/Abstract: Among the consequences for Roma of the experience of the Genocide and the memoryof the Genocide were transformations of contemporary Roma identities and formationof a Roma political movement. At the same time contemporary Roma art wasdeveloping; Roma artists found themselves in a specific position – they became ‘agentsof memory’ and ambassadors of their community.
