Summary/Abstract: In the article, the concept of aesthetic experience introduced by Arthur Schopenhauer is discussed. This concept is constructed in opposition to the ideas of post-Kantian Classical German philosophy and aesthetics, therefore the act of aesthetic experience is defined negatively in opposition to what it is not. Frequently cognition according to the principle of sufficient reason participates in the act as a negative factor. Nevertheless, the author of the article focuses attention on the positive aspects of the concept.
