Impact of ANELiS project in 2011

A bibliometric study

Summary/Abstract: Academic community has benefited of ANELIS project, a project that has granted access to the most important scientific databases. The positive effects of this project are analysed by measurable indicators and also by those generated using specialized tools. The indicators used for databases assessment are analysed and a new indicator is proposed to consider the real,effective use of electronic resources based on the grounds that any useful information in a document transforms later the document in a cited reference for the future published articles. A case study is presented by calculating the effective factor of Web of Science database use by “Transilvania” University in 2011,considering ANELiS statistics. The proposed indicators may become the starting point in the future acquiring strategies of electronic informational resources.
