Summary/Abstract: European research is gaining speed and one of the important gears moving are the libraries. This middleman of knowledge once perceived having a static position in this moment is the active broker of information and data, but most important is the builder or the common information space. The paper seeks some examples of how spearhead European libraries understood to share resources and know-how into a common effort to develop a rich context for the research community. Some of the future traits of the librarianship are exposed and some aspects concerning data were taken into the mix that forms he library into a strategic pillar.
