Summary/Abstract: The Roman fiscal policy at the end of the Republic is characterized by the emerge of one exceptional phenomenon – the companies of the publicans. They fully supported the State to manage to organize the spending of the public finances and the tax collection. During this time the private enterprise is very strong and the abuses with public money is limited. The public contractors- societates publicanorum succeed to achieve important for the society results.
