Summary/Abstract: Based on written documents from the turn of the 18/19th centuries and new, philological researches, present study inquires the reception and manuscripts discovered in the native land of the Transylvanian-born writer and translator, Kelemen Mikes. Th e paper gives special attention to a translation survived in two versions, A keresztnek király uttya (Th e Royal Route of the Cross) and a letter in manuscript – the first of the literal letters series Törökországi levelek (Letters from Turkey) – found in the Zágon Museum (Romania).
