Summary/Abstract: The author analyses in a subjective manner how the figure of the dragon was present in television and in other visual media during the late Kádár era in Hungary. One of the conclusions is that the dragon became during this period an anthropomorphic and/or tame creature in Hungarian television shows. Another dimension of the dragon figure is represented in the Bruce Lee movies where the dragon becomes a metaphor of power. The article offers a detailed analysis of the success of Bruce Lee movies in socialist Hungary.
