Summary/Abstract: The copyright became the interest of legal concern relatively late, especially because of the lack of means of mass reproduction of literary and artistic works, although we can speak of a certain moral paternity during the Ancient Times. The concepts of “intellectual property”and “copyright” gain outline at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century when the first regulations begin to appear. The end of the 19th century represents the starting point of the international agreements concerning the copyright having a significant influence over the national statute laws, while the last 120 years show a spectacular evolution in the field.
