Summary/Abstract: The origins of nasihatnames which gives advices for rulers, is going back to the ancient Persian civilization. In these studies, the advices are given by adressing to statesmen or rulers themselves directly. After the second half of the Sixteenth Century, many studies had been written by Ottoman statesmen which included reform advices and aimed the restoration of former power of the Empire. Katip Çelebi is a prominent thinker and stateman who effected his contemporaries and later intellectuals by his immortal studies. As an intellectual Katip Çelebi dealed with both contemporary problems and structual issues with his far-seen paradigm. Katip Çelebi is the greatest bibliographiest and geographer of Ottoman period Turkish science. He gave many worldwide famous studies which written in a certain methodology and based on solid documents. In this respect, his perspective can still enlight many contempory disputed issues. The purpose of this study is to understand his perspective and the effects of his period on his paradigm by focusing on his ideas on state, society, religion and science.
