Summary/Abstract: There is a lot of works written about Józef Piłsudski’s charisma. They were written during Piłsudski’s life and nowadays as well. They attempt to catch what is slipping away the scientific examination; charisma and personality of the leader. Michał Sokolnicki discribed these advantages in the following way: „There was an unknown psychological fascination going out from the speaker and influencing the others” this kind of fascination Sokolnicki characterized as “the charm of his figure and thoughts”. In 1918, the rough time of regaining independence Andrzej Strug published “Chimera” the story presenting metamorphosis of socialistic activist in the moment of his despair caused to the fact of revolution’s collapse and divisions in his party. The main hero Przecław Borszowski is awaken for the new ideas of independence mainly thanks to the personal contact with Piłsudski. In this story is hidden a private experience of the author Andrzej Strug, but also the experience of his generation, future “legiony” soldiers.
