Summary/Abstract: In the following problem sketch, which expressly understands itself as such, some aspects are to be presented, which refer to the task of a "social orientation" of the youth in the Soviet Union. The "formation of a social orientation of the adolescent generation" seems to become a central educational policy objective of the eighties and - as a result - also the framework for the postulated "complex" task of education and the desired "complex" scientific research on this topic leave. The understanding and use of new terms and concepts, as has been observed for some time within Soviet pedagogical science, testifies at least to a certain willingness to adapt to new tasks and an increased sensitivity to existing problems. The politically-ideologically sanctioned key concepts, such as that of a "social orientation" of youth, also fulfill the important function of making the educational public aware of the importance of a task and of prioritizing it; however, conversely, the danger of degeneration is the mere buzzword.
