Summary/Abstract: This focuses on the appearance of the market town of Câmpina and its countryside area in an Austrian military map of the XVIIIth Century. The realities shown in this particular map are compared to the ones of the present, and also the information is confronted to other contemporary cartographic and written sources, focusing on the plateau on which the town is situated. Illustrated with images of the map and the related section of its descriptive addendum, the article insists on the two churches placed in the town centre and their little-known history.
