Summary/Abstract: The paper describes the current status of the energy security in Poland especially having on mind discussed and proposed power market and dedicated regulation for capacity market. The main question: are there any chances that the Polish Energy System can fulfill the needs of energy security.The authors discusses fundamentals and rudiments proposed by the Polish Ministry of Energy for the new Polish Energy Strategy till 2050. They assumed possibilities for the new investments in energy sector and verified position – how can Poland fulfill the obligation agreed with the EU concerning reduction of emissions and energy and climate strategy.
