Summary/Abstract: In this study, Ivan Illich’s theory of “ Desschooling Society " and Nurettin Topçu’s "Education Case" training model are discussed in comparison. Illich claims that the schools which stand in the center of people's lives, have lost their real function, they are just established for providing people with certificates and diplomas, therefore he thinks that schools should be totally removed. Instead, he defends the idea of establishing alternative learning centers. According to him, the increase of schools has the same destructive effect as the increase of guns. According to Nurettin Topçu people recognize life through schools and schools are learning places. We need schools at every stage of our lives. However, considering that unconscious and faithless generations with diplomas are grown in today's schools, he defends the restructuring of schools with national values. This study draws attention to the viewpoints of the two of the most important thinkers of the social life about the necessity of school institution and their similar and different ideas on the factors affecting the school institution as well.
