Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the outsourcing trend in the global economy and the most significant actions of the Romanian companies due to this strategic tool. The aim of the paper is to present the degree of extension of outsourcing in the international market and evaluate the future prospective for development in different sector of the business function. Beside the advantages, characteristics and key factors of the process of outsourcing there are discussed also its constraints and disadvantages, as was identified by management team until now. Using the newest data about Romanian economy trend toward outsourcing, in the second part the paper focused on the methodologies and strategic ways of adopting it. There are presented for three different domain: finance, human resource and IT the specific types of services outsourced and some benefits resulted from this. Relating the globalization with outsourcing in the end of the paper result that the decision to undertake by a company the outsourcing process could affect its success in the global market and for this reason outsourcing became a strategic decision for the organizational management.
