Summary/Abstract: The social trends in the country reflected the demographic conditions in the East region. The continued decline in fertility rate, together with the expected extended life span and in collaboration with migration movements, conditioned reduction of population and restructuring in the age structure. Based on a certain indicators that are elaborated in this paper, it is evident that in a period of fifty years we have a disruption in the balance between generation and emphasized passage of the population in the region to a higher stage of demographic aging. The aging of the population requires and directs activities related to economic and social activities, the use of resources and the organization of space and is a direct prerequisite for sustainable socioeconomic and spatial development.
