Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to introduce the Juma Mosque, built in Baku Innercity but surviving with its minaret. As the only and largest Friday's mosque in Baku, its descriptions have been usually based only on the old plans and photographs taken in the late 19th century. The plan of this mosque highly resembles to those with maqsura in Iran and Anatolia built by Seljukids. Yet scholars have not mentioned how the Juma Mosque of Baku influenced the construction styles of other mosques in Anatolia and Iran. Russian and Azerbaijani scientists, made plenty of publications about the plan and ornaments of the mosque, so we, here, propose a new opinion by adding some new suggestions and comments on the hypothesis of previous researchers. By presenting this example to the attention of scientists, we want to increase the number of samples by evaluating the visual and aesthetic pleasure of the Turkish-Islamic mosque architecture.
