Summary/Abstract: Regional waste treatment plants (RIPOK) are commercial entities that are parts of the mu¬nicipal waste management system in Poland. The system is subjected to several legal regu¬lations and strategic assumptions formulated at national, regional and municipal level. The services provided by RIPOK are diverse in terms of their type, spatial accessibility and cost. Conducted financial analysis proves that this diversification affects the effectiveness of waste management system existence and limits its role in achieving circular economy demands.
