Summary/Abstract: The agricultural sector can influence sustainable rural development (RZ) both the positive and the negative way. That’s why it is so important that the implementation of agricultural policy serves both economic development and the improvement of the quality of life of rural residents and the maintenance of ecosystem services in rural areas. The aim of the article is to present changes in the EU Common Agricultural Policy, in particular, the actions of the Rural Development Programs, in covering all three areas of sustainable development. The work carried out quantitative analysis of data from the ARiMR and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Reports (2004–2015) and statistical data (GUS) as well as spatial analyzes by voivodship made in QGIS.
