Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of the impact of researcher’s personal views on the choice of the paradigm defining theoretical framework or shaping the way of thinking, as well as on the decision regarding the research method. This choice determines the research steps, modifies the aims of the project becoming a key aspect of the inquiry. According to Creswell a scientific paradigm, or referring to his terminology“worldview”, is “general orientation about the world and the nature of research that a researcher holds”. It can be assumed that the initial ideas of aspiring scientists rel yon realizing the impact of philosophical ideas on the selection of the research strategy and the best method. Te basis for the article is an attempt to explain the specificity of the relationship between private views of the researcher, the scientific paradigm and the research method. Te considerations are based on a personal experience of the aspiring researcher trying to embed her own pre-scientific vision in the paradigmatic school of thought.
