Summary/Abstract: In this text is given a short description of legislative procedures in the fields of integration within the European Union, their basic characteristics and most relevant changes they have come through in last several decades. Under the influences of 'deepening' and 'widening' of the European integration, the increase of the number of member states, as well as of the need to make the European Union more democratic political and institutional system, the position of the European Parliament in the legislative procedures has improved during the years, but it's still just a small and insufficient step in order to open the European Union for its citizens and to make it more transparent in its work, especially taking into account that originally economic crisis has been transformed into political and institutional one.
