Digital Technologies in Developing New Systems for Classical Organs

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the latest developments in digital technologies and systems that are used today in the manufacturing of musical instruments, especially in classical pipe organs. It is interesting to remark that during the history of this instrument, each period left its own mark by applying the latest discoveries of the epoch in the action, starting from the Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, modern and contemporary period. But today, in organ building, the simple application of a new system in the action was surpassed, as new methods of sound generation and reproduction have been discovered. The paper presents a case study of mechanical action organs, pneumatic, electric, electronic and digital action organs
