Anthropological research of the material from tombs at church № 2 of “Shishmanovo kale”

Summary/Abstract: The article presents anthropological research of remains of human beings which are found in tombs №№ 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Sector 2 from the archeological object “Shishmanovo kale” to Samokov town at the time of the excavations during 2005 and 2006 as well as a material from an earlier excavations which is preserved in the depository of the Historical museum – Samokov. The analysis is done in three directions: 1. Sex and age of the individuals; 2. Anthropological type and physical development of the individuals; 3. Pathological changes on the skeleton material.
