PARTICULARITIES OF THE VIOLENT CRIMES IN GALATI COUNTY (2003–2013)

Summary/Abstract: Etymologically speaking, the notion of “violence” originates in the Latin root “vis”, which means force, which makes us think of the idea of power, domination, and utilization of physical superiority over another person. It can be exerted individually, at group or macrosocial level with the purpose of imposing one’s own will (of a person, a group, a social class etc.) over others. In this article we shall analyze the particularities of the authors of those forms of violence that harm the inalienable fundamental value – life, as well as the bodily integrity or the individual’s health, namely the particularities of the authors of the crimes of murder, attempted murder and battery or injury leading to death perpetrated in the period 2003–2013 in Galati County.
