Initiatives which raise the awareness about the protection of the intellectual property rights in Poland

Summary/Abstract: Familiarity with the problems associated with the protection of intellectual property rights and the respect for somebody else’s property constitute a key to the development of the economy. Due to the increasing role of intellectual property in social and economic life, there arose the necessity of a comprehensive programme of the education of children and young people and the support of scholars and entrepreneurs in this field. The article presents the activities which are engaged in Poland. These activities consist in the dissemination on a wide scale of the knowledge about the protection of intellectual property in the society – school education, higher education, support of entrepreneurs and various social initiatives.
