ON THE BEGINNING OF SERBIAN PHILOSOPHY

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the beginning of the Serbian philosophy in the Byzantine era of its history is considered through the ontological and logical concepts of искон, бити and слово, which are set by translating the beginning of the Gospel according to John Ἐν ἀρχῆ ἦν ὁ λόγος as Искони бѣашє Слово, then through translation of selected manuscripts from the Изборника Великаго кньазя Святослава Ярославича 1073 года, and, in particular, through the translation of the first part of John Damascus’ writing Πηγὴ γνώσεως, Φιλοςοφικὰ κεφαλαῖα (Посланиє Святаго Јована Дамаскина).
