CITING IN MATICA SRPSKA SOCIAL SCIENCE QUARTERLY IN 2010 – EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS AS A CONTRIBUTION FOR FOUNDING SCIENTOMETRICS IN SERBIA

Summary/Abstract: In this paper is given an empirical analysis of the sources and the citing quality in the example of the Matica Srpska Social Science Quarterly in 2010. After the methodological notes, in the first part of the paper was considered the structure of citings, according to the informal classification (books, newspaper articles, proceedings papers, statistical sources and so on). Then, due to its importance, the citing structure of newspaper articles has been presented separately. In the second part of the paper special attention was drawn to the quality and reliability of citings in analyzed articles, where numerous flaws and deficiencies were pointed out. Those flaws relativize significantly the construction and use of the appropriate indicators for further scientometric analysis.
