Summary/Abstract: The study describes the methods along which the Hungarian social researchers from Transylvania have constructed their own object of research, which holds various labels (“Hungariandom”, „Hungarian society”, „Hungarian population”). The study focuses on the question of population but it does not only rely on demographic studies.
