Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the idea of learning Russian as a foreign language through active communication with Russian native speakers in different types of activities. Examined are possibilities for such type of youth forum on the example of Herzen’s youth forum “My Initiative in Education” in which took part students from Russia and Bulgaria (in Saint Petersburg and in Varna). Some prospects of joint activities between Bulgarian and Russian students and schoolchildren in assisting mastering of Russian as foreign language are also shown.
