Summary/Abstract: Cultural identity of contemporary Bosniak (and Bosnian-Herzegovinian) literature must be observed in context of social and historical changes, as well as tendencies, movements and formations within literary theory. Having that in mind, there are various creative phases within periodization of Bosniak (and Bosnian-Herzegovinian) literaure, all up until the significant turn towards the philosophy of existentialism during the 1950s and the turn to avant-garde transformation later in the 1960s and early 1970s. Already during 1960s Bosnian-Herzegovinian and South-Slavic authors apply postulates of postmodern literature, which is, on the one hand, reaction to modernist expression in the years before, and on the other, it is a convenient intertextual postmodern expression. According to that, on the diachronic vertical we locate the postmodern literature of Irfan Horozović, which offers the context of a new generation of novelists who will form the novel system in the recent history of Bosniak and Bosnian-Herzegovinian literature, with special orientation towards the experimentality of novel forms, decomponing of a harmonic discourse, intermedia aspects, as well as the matters of identity, cultural memory, remembrance and oblivion, interweaving of literary genres, combining (at first glance) the impossible, and therefore, it seems necessary to give answers to questions of nature of Irfan Horozović’s literature, to clarify its poetic features in order to establish a kind of bridge/link to more concrete understanding and interpretation of his literary, cultural and identity context.
