Summary/Abstract: In the communist period, the main instrument used for controlling the literary activity was censorship. From the moment of the communists coming into power (the Groza government), the phenomenon of the purge began to be manifest, to the extent that, until 1946, up to 2000 literary works were forbidden. Valuable authors were removed from textbooxs and libraries, authors such as Blaga, Slavici, Maiorescu, Iorga ect., who had become class enemies. Mihail Sadoveanu, who was a semanatorist at the beginning of the century, receives in 1950 the Golden medal of peace for the novel Mitrea Cocor, and, thus subjecting his talent to the political dogmas, he will represent the ideal model of applying the social realism in the literary works. The purpose of the work is to demonstrate the success of the novel, through the facile approach of the theme of the poor peasant, shaped by the revolutionary communist spirit of the class struggle.
