Summary/Abstract: This work presents how rhytmical repetition of various motifs and syntactic elements, such as graduation, and all types of parallelism, can make poetic meaning in Derviš Sušić's works Pobune and Uhode. Considering that, expressive role of language is crucial, because, in some parts, language has no referential role because it becomes poetic. Rebellion is the most dominant motif in these narratives, seen in minor structures and also repeated in a whole structure of mentioned works. Muddy water is used as a metaphor that suggests movement between emotional and intellectual, and also suggests movement in terms of expressive use of language: from the use of attribute and personification to the use of genitive metaphore. Internal flow of human thought is best shown through the use of expressive syntactic elements. Subjective view of history, that dominates in these narratives, corresponds with the expressive use of language, and rhytmical repetition of various motifs, so all these elements together make poetic expression in Pobune and Uhode.
