Summary/Abstract: The article is about a family with intellectual disability children. The first part explains the value of a family and how the attitude and behavior both of parents can influence social and emotional child`s development. It also shows the differences between each parent`s attitude towards their child. In the next part there are some results of a research undertaken on group of 25 fathers of children with more serious intellectual disability. They show attitude of fathers according to M. Plopy’s classification. The last part summarizes them all, contains practical recommendations for the parents of children with intellectual disability.
