Summary/Abstract: In the era of digitalisation, the role of a modern library has significantly changed. It ceased to be just a place where reader can borrow a book or use the reading room as currently libraries are becoming meeting places for young people within the group work, special events venues, and provide access to new technologies that facilitate making use of the library collection. Authors of the monograph entitled “Library of standards: space, resources, services” discuss in their book the stages of creation and organisation of a modern library. They use their own years of experience and depict changes they were a part of in recent years.
