Summary/Abstract: According to János Kornai, the leading Hungarian economist, the change of regime in the economy took place in Hungary only a decade after the fall of the communist political system. Now, the change of regime, i. e. privatisation, seems to be financially rational in the health care system and high education, too. However, this may also increase the concentration of power, a reactionary tradition of the region, in both spheres. Thus, strong active and passive mass resistance is an obvious response to this challenge.
