Summary/Abstract: This article represents the comments on the draft Law on the Serbian military and the Law on defence, presented in summer 2007. The findings of this work were presented at the public debate organised by the Centre for Civil and Military Relations on the 24th of September 2007. The intention of the author is to show the circumstances under which these laws developed, to point out the most important changes that these laws bring to the security system, and to point out the basic shortcomings of the suggested legal regulations.
