”Poradnik Językowy Online” — Digitization and Beyond: Aims, Assumptions, Perspectives

Summary/Abstract: The paper outlines the aims of the project entitled: {“Poradnik Językowy” on-line}, funded by the National Programme for the Development of Humanities. One of the goals of the project was to digitize the volumes coming from the years 1901–2003. Providing Internet access to all the volumes has become possible upon settling copyright issues. Currently, two formats of the volumes are available: graphic and text (MS Word format). An additional goal consisted in compiling the journal’s bibliography. The bibliography involves the following indexes: authors of texts published in “Poradnik Językowy”; sections within the journal; key words, words, expressions and phrases commented on, as well as affixes. The indexes (apart from the index of the journal’s sections) and the titles of articles are searchable with respect to a set of criteria. The third aim of the project was to provide full information about the journal (its history, role and the editors-in-chief).
