Summary/Abstract: A number of crossmodal associations have been described in multisensory perception and evaluation of food. Consumers’ decision about food selection, consumption and preference is highly influenced by internal and external factors. Auditory cues play an important role in decision process, although consumers are not necessary aware of them. This article reviews the latest findings about correlations between sound, flavor and pleasure and underlines the applicability of these findings in improving the consumer’s quality of life.
