Summary/Abstract: The archaeological discoveries in the mouth of the Don river enable to represent the dynamics of military and social situation in this region in the third quarter of the 4th — first third of the 3rd centuries BC. The analysis of the whole set of sources testifies to the worsening of the military and political situation in the eastern part of Scythia since the middle of the third quarter of the 4th century BC. In our opinion, the events of the last period of the Scythian history in this region were determined mainly by the Bosporus-Scythian relationship peculiarity. The available data do not let considering the Sarmatian tribes incursion as the determining factor in the destabilization of the situation in the Lower Don region in the third quarter of the 4th — first third of the 3rd centuries BC.
