Summary/Abstract: The article is about the Attic type helmets with visor (by G. Waurick typology) from the votive hoards of the North Pontic area of the 3rd — 1st centuries BC. The paper deals with genesis and chronology of the Attic type helmets with visor, and potential workshops. Refinements are made to the chronology of some assemblages and stray finds. The author suggests that the decorative fronton of the hellenistic helmets derives from the diadem on the helmet on the archaic portrayals of Athena. Three similar helmets were distinguished by the author in Kamenka series. These helmets probably were made in Macedonia in the second half of the 3rd century — first third of the 2nd century. The data of metallographic investigation and electron microprobe analysis and scanning electron microscopy of copper alloy composition of a helmet from this series are reported in the supplement.
