Summary/Abstract: In this article I’ll attempt to analyze some verses of Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī,the well-known Persian poet, where he discusses about man. Rumi’s work is distinguished by his mystic approach on the phenomena and the universe, including man. For him the originality of a man is can be found in his soul. The mystic outlook, especially the intellectual system of Rūmī, before treating the material dimensions and its transformations, targets its spiritual illumination. After this approach, the variety of souls is deepened in The One and actually their oneness is not a subjective and empiric reality. He sees man as a double-dimensional where one dimension is physic and the other metaphysic. In his works, he never neglects the physical aspect of a man, which undoubtedly for him is not equal to the metaphysical aspect. According to him, man can experience the real world of the being… i.e. transcendence only when he is free of the robbery of physical dependencies and of the world of differences and diverse elements, which make him unable to enjoy the satisfaction of the absolute freedom.
