Energy companies in CSR indices on the example of RESPECT index

Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyze the presence of companies producing and selling electricity in the indices of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the example of RESPECT index. It is assumed that these companies are more often included in the CSR indices. The article presents the structure of selected indices of corporate social responsibility with particular emphasis on environmental factors. On the example of Polish RESPECT index principles for the classification of companies in the index are discussed, and attention is drawn to the nature of relations with stakeholders of Polish energy companies. Next the article presents advantages of the implementation of corporate social responsibility in energy companies. At the end of the paper RESPECT index and a review of companies producing and selling electricity which are present in it are shown.
