Summary/Abstract: The paper summarizes experimental results on the corrosion of hot-dip galvanized steel in concrete. To this purpose the experimental tests were effectuated on kinetics and mechanism corrosion of rebars placed în electrolytes simulating the solution în concrete pores and fresh concrete during its hardening. The electrochemical analysis methods were studied the corrosion kinetics and mechanism and using optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction revealed the formation of calcium hydroxizincate on hot-dip galvanized steel reinforcement surface. The results showed a better corrosion behavior of hot dip galvanized steel reinforcement în an environment as close to pH 12.5 and while formation the calcium hydroxizincate passivating layer.
