Summary/Abstract: On the basis of analysis of five elementary, exemplary and historical types of parliamentarism, from the period of its emergence to the World War I – of analysis which captivates indeed both by its unreduced comprehensiveness of rules and practices, in their socio-political context of action and reaction, and by its concise brevity, due to concentration on ably chosen essential characteristics of parliamentarism – Olga Popović Obradović managed (in spite of certain inconsistencies in her narration), in an impressively well argued synthesis, to draw a conclusion on the legal essence of parliamentarism. And that would be: a political responsibility of government before parliament, or what would be the same, political responsibility of executive before legislative power.
