Summary/Abstract: Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are one of the important developments affecting economic and social life. Developments in this sector cause important changes both in our individual lives and in our social lives. It is not possible to stay out of these developments in the world we live in. The developments in information and communication technologies have significant effects on the general economy due to the direct and indirect effects they create. The widespread use of these technologies creates a number of effects on national income, employment and unemployment. Due to this preoccupation, research on the effect of ICT on economic indicators has been the subject of many studies. In this study is modeled by the Delayed Distributed Autoregressive (ARDL) method using annual data from 1980 to 2015 and the effect of ICT on unemployment in Iran is tested. According to the predictions of the model, the short term effect of ICT indicator on unemployment is -0.4 and statistically significant at the 10% significance level. Therefore, the impact of ICT on unemployment during the research period is negative in the short and long term.
